Pidgin 2.6.0 and 2.6.1 released!

A huge update for this free multimessenger (program, that allows you to chat over various protocols at once) has just been released which includes:

• 99 bullet points in the ChangeLog.
• 221 tickets closed for the release (that is, 221 tickets that we believe are fixed or are patches that we accepted).
• 2 major new features [VoIP for XMPP at Linux, theme support]
• More other new features than I care to count

The 2.6.1 one fixes Yahoo issues and important security vulnerabilities. Archlinux packages for x86_64 and i686 have not been built yet, but they probably will be ready soon. As far as I know, this is the first multimessenger that has actually VoIP support. Good job @ everyone who worked on it!

New Header

To be honest, I ripped the old punk tux off a Debian wallpaper I found at Deviant Art and used it as avatar. Later I tried to find it again – with no success (to get to know the license). Today I decided to remake a similar punk tux with Inkscape, and that’s what came out. The background and the line-effect are mainly made with GIMPressionist (to be found in GIMP itself).

Navigation enhanced

I edited the navigation-bar on the right side of the page. Now it is easily possible to subscribe to RSS-feeds in a specific language only, or to just filter that language (in the backend I’m using now categorys instead of tags). The „campaign“-section is also new

Jetzt kann man ganz einfach RSS-Feeds nur auf Deutsch oder Englisch abonnieren, bzw. nach diesen Sprachen Filtern (im Backend benutze ich dafür jetzt nämlich Kategorien, was das ganze einfacher macht).
